A man sent from God

What simple word or instruction has God spoken to me that I need to hold on to?

When God sends a man, He does not fill his life with ambiguity or clutter it with irrelevant details.

His instructions are clear, purposeful, and simple. For Moses, it was as straightforward as: “Say to Pharaoh, ‘Let My people go.’”

For John the Baptist, it was, “Go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways.” For the disciples, it was even simpler: “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

And for Barnabas and Saul, the call came plainly: “Separate unto Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

Those simple words brought deliverance to the Israelites, a baptism of repentance and restoration, and the establishment of the New Testament church, accompanied by mighty miracles.

For Barnabas and Paul, those simple words gave birth to the famous three missionary journeys, planted more than fourteen churches across the known world, and produced more than half of the New Testament.

Simple words, yet they carried divine authority, eternal impact, and unmistakable clarity.

What do you notice in all these examples? First, when God sends a man, He never sends him empty-handed.

He always gives the assurance of His word. Second, when God speaks, He speaks with simplicity and clarity.

His words are often so simple that they can be repeated and rehearsed. He does not confuse; He commissions.

Third, as you step out in obedience, He adds details to His word that make your life meaningful and colorful.

Yet those simple words remain the pivot of your life. Whenever opposition or challenges arise, you can fall back on the simplicity and clarity of that word and say with confidence, “So did the Lord command me.” (Acts 14:47).

Reflection Question: What “simple word” or instruction has God spoken to me that I need to hold on to?
