Chaff or Wheat?

Pictures and images are a powerful way to convey information.
For instance, in the wilderness, Satan made use of imagery in tempting Jesus.
He took Him to an exceedingly high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world.
That was a ‘visual’ temptation, an image of power and glory.
And guess what? Dreams are an effective way of communicating, because they speak in pictures.
In previous articles, I discussed different sources of dreams: godly dreams, dreams born from a multitude of thoughts, and yes, demonic and deceptive dreams.
Have you heard people say they had a dream in which a strange personality gave them specific instructions to do a particular thing at a particular time, and to dress in a particular way?
These sorts of shapes affect how people behave. For instance, some drink water at a specific time of day, swallow a substance at a particular time, or repeat a strange ritual several times.
And every effort to help them come to light proves futile. The evil one has done that. When men sleep, the wicked one comes and plants evil seeds.
Dreams seem to communicate evil images effectively. But why does Satan bring evil dreams? First, to deceive and lead astray: in the days of the prophet Jeremiah, false prophets used dreams to deceive and derail.
When the true prophet declared that destruction was imminent unless the people of God repented, false prophets responded with deceptive dreams and spoke otherwise.
At one point, the Lord said, “The prophet who has a dream, let him tell the dream; but let him who has My word speak My word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat?” says the Lord. (Jeremiah 23:28).
Satan is a deceiver, and whatever opportunity he finds, he will exploit it to lead people away from the truth.
Second, Satan brings dreams to sow terror and fear. The goal is to keep you in a state of perpetual terror, and a person in perpetual terror doubts the power of God.
They remember their dreams but forget the powerful name of the Lord (Jeremiah 23:27).
In another article, I will share personal experiences on demonic dreams, how the Lord helped me to deal with them, and how you, too, can confront and overcome any satanic dreams that come to terrify you.
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, he will never put you in terror again.
Reflection Question: Have I ever followed a dream without testing its source—with Scripture and the wisdom of the wise?
SELAH: God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind — 2 Timothy 1:7
