Jesus is More than Enough!

I am not attractive enough, smart enough, nice enough, talented enough, good enough, tall enough, rich enough, assertive enough, successful enough, or likable enough. I am simply not enough.” Although the fear of not being enough has crippling effects on our self-image, these damaging consequences are nothing compared to our spiritual image.

Don’t believe the lie!

When Christians begin to believe the lie that Jesus Christ is not enough. When they believe the lie that our sufficiency is not in Christ, but in what we can be enough in ourselves.

They live with uncertainty; they rely on the flesh to compensate for what only the Spirit can do; they add things to the gospel to make up for their lack of simple faith in Jesus. They water down the gospel, the Scriptures, and their convictions, and they neglect or despise the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

They get carried away by the latest religious fads, become easily shaken by challenges and temptations, experience very little of the abundant life Jesus died to give them, and worst of all, they discredit Jesus before an unsaved world.

Jesus is More than Enough!

But the Bible declares emphatically that Jesus is more than enough. Christ alone, or not at all. Christ is complete and sufficient. Christ is not just part of our solution; He is the solution.

He is the image of the invisible God, the Firstborn of every creature; by Him all things: visible and invisible, heavenly or earthly, thrones, dominions, principalities, or powers all things were created by Him and for Him.

He is the head of the body, the church, the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead, and in Him all fullness dwells so that in all things He might have the preeminence. Jesus is enough.

If we are not satisfied in Christ, it is not because He is not enough, but because we continue to draw from broken cisterns and empty rituals. I recommend that you read Colossians 1:15-20 over and over again.

Eat the corn; leave the manna

Without leaving the manna, you can’t have a Pentecost. Manna is an easy pick, but corn is a deliberate plant. In the wilderness, manna required no sowing, no waiting, no cultivating, just gathering. B

The day the manna ceased!

The God who provided manna in the wilderness is the same God who provides corn in Canaan. The difference is this: in the wilderness we pick manna, but in Canaan we plant the corn. Yet in both seasons,
